    The answer to Spud1's question might be similar to the answer to the question "Why are there so few outstanding American soccer players?" It's just not that popular a sport here (yet).

    I just checked letour.fr and it still shows Rasmussen in the lead - I don't see anything about him being kicked out yet. I haven't been able to catch any of the Tour on TV this year.

      The story has been picked up by all the major news channels by now. It is likely that the Tour results page will not be update until after tomorrow's stage. That is what happened when Vinokourov was excluded and his team quit the race. The question not yet answered is whether Alberto Contador of the Discovery Channel team will start the race tomorrow wearing the yellow jersey of race leader. He probably won't want to, but the tradition is very important to the Tour organizers and they may insist that he wear it or withdraw. We'll see. I am betting he will be obligated to start in that jersey tomorrow.
