  •  The Clinton Campaign also could have (0+ / 0-)

announced her schedule was unable to accommodate Yearly Kos breakout sessions a week ago too.  Gina does not work for HRC, but Peter Daou does.  He was quick to post about Hillary's surrogate defending Yearly Kos and Daily Kos from that crazed ranter from Fox.  The lack of availability for the breakout would have been an item of interest as well. The uproaor would have only lasted a week or so into oblivion, if announced earlier no matter if YK or the Clinton campaign announced it.

I am still very glad Hillary is doing the breakout, though.

    •  Why should they? (7+ / 0-)

Why should the campaign announce that they would not be making it?  They told the organizers of the event and that should be enough.  Should the campaihgn publish a list of all the events that they get asked to come to and decline?  The people here should have stated that "we invited HRC to the breakout sessions but the campaign will be sending a surrogate".  Why blame the Clinton camp for something someone else made a mistake about?

      •  Who is building a relationship with the netroots? (0+ / 0-)

Hillary has not - but people on her behalf are trying.    They knew it hadn't been announced yet just by reading the site.  If you want to play by old rule and traditional media plans, by all means each camp is welcome to do so.  Those who need a new way of doing things think and act differently with the age of the internet.  Her Internet campaign director knew it would cause an uproar and knew it had not been announced.

That said, Hillary's reversal is most welcome.
