    It was the only way they would pick up more than a handful of Dem votes.

    Apparently, Pelosi said, firmly, earlier in the day that she was opposed to it. I don't know how much good that'll do  once it comes up in the House, but she did say she was against it.

    I wouldn't give Dub and Abu-Gonzo the power to do anything like this for 6 HOURS, let alone six months!

    Many of those who voted for it are from very conservative states--and several narrowly won their last races. Still, they made a BIG mistake in doing so.

    Fortunately (for them and us) they'll have another opportunity to redeem themselves in September, when they can bring the time-line for withdrawal from Iraq back to the table.

    But hey, all the presidential candidates in the Senate who are coming to YK2 can now get up there and brag about having opposed it....

    Keep in mind, though, that only one of them opposed the key provisions of the Patriot Act. And, um, he wasn't the Senate at the time. Just sayin'!
