  •  But it's not about Dub or AGAG. (10+ / 0-)

George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK, RFK, MLK, Gandhi, Jesus, Buddha and Mother Teresa could rise from the grave and take over the Presidency and the Cabinet and promise to review each of the wiretapping requests as a committee, and this bill would STILL be unconstitutional. The power to wiretap people in the US without a warrant does not belong in anyone's hands. Secret courts were bad enough - that was arguably unconstitutional itself. But this travesty?

I don't think we should even be mentioning AGAG or Bush in our arguments against this bill, because that implies that we're being partisan, that we might willingly put this power into someone's hands if it weren't Bush or Cheney or Rove or Gonzo. And that's simply not the case.

We have never been at war with Eurasia. We have always been at war with Eastasia.
