    Senator Feinstein,

I am truly appalled that you would capitulate to the White House and allow oversight over warrantless wiretapping (itself a dangerous precedent in the first place) to be removed from the FISA court and handed over to the Attorney General.  Even aside from the general bad idea of granting the executive branch even more power, this particular Attorney General is currently under a cloud of suspicion for mismanaging his department, allowing political corruption to run rampant, and probably even lying to Congress. I can't imagine why you would want to allow this man to take over oversight from the FISA court which has been handling these cases for the past several years.  I'm not sure why you thought it was necessary to pass any bill on this subject at all right now, let alone such a blatant power grab by the White House.

I believe our national security interests can best be served by reining in this President's tendency to overstep his bounds.  And for certain our civil liberties can only be protected if you are willing to stand up to him.  I am extremely disappointed in your unwillingness to do so today.
