freaking Christians.  And loved playing yup his Bad Boy image. I've had friends trained in OTO methods who were solid mages, and some who work in the Western Tradition, which is fairly Judeo-Christian. OTO is fairly staid these days, really.  Crowley's written works leave out  important bits of the rituals, to make sure someone who doesn't know the key can't unlock them (and hurt themselves or others). If I'd wanted to be a ceremonial type, I''d have gone Dion Fortune's route--more emphasis on self discipline rather than one excess.  But I am Irish  (3/4) and I resonate to the old Irish gods (while realizing they are merely aspects of the Universe or the One, or whatever you want to call it/him/her/them--I'm not picky) so Wicca called me.

Well,  Crowley wasn't genuinely evil or mean, just arrogant and talented and undiscplined--more Malfoy than Voldemort.

SIGH I adore Jason Isaacs, but he needs long hair--and as Malfoy he's gorgeous.

The last time we mixed religion and politics people got burned at the stake.
