  •  Ok. So Waxman is out. The NYT isn't going to (6+ / 0-)

run this on the first page for weeks on end, either.  This shouldn't surprise us, given what we already know.

So, that means we have to do the heavy lifting for them.  I know your arms are tired Luke (and Mike), and I'm amazed that Sibel still has strength enough to keep pulling.

But, what can we do better that we've been doing, and what haven't we tried?

Seems to me that biggest obstacle is the perception that Sibel's story is uncorroborated.  So, what can we do to gather and format existing corroborating testimony and evidence that's already on the record, and what needs to be dug up fresh?  What does Sibel (and her corroborating witneses) know first-hand that hasn't been said publicly, and how can those facts be laid out in a credible manner without getting them thrown in the slammer? Just sitting down and ordering our thoughts along those two or three prongs should produce some goods.

Not saying that you guys haven't already brainstormed this, but it might be time to take another crack at it.

I look forward to any thoughts anyone has on this.

i kinda get lost amongst the weeds sometimes - if it is true that the biggest obstacle is the perception that sibel's story APPEARS uncorroborated then it's a good idea to work on that angle. i'm too close to the story (meaning, i dont know what the perspective is of it from the outside

      does this help?

you might go to the NYer mag archive and poke around.   I think I recall at least one, if not 2 hot articles about Sibel.  And yeah, the fix sounds like it's in stone.  Must be some big old pus pocket in there, eh?

by the massive response to googling her name and the attendant articles, it seems obvious someone is scared shitless of diving into this one.  Cause it's BIG.  VERY BIG.  I've been watching it for years now, and it has a bodacious stink.
