    In fact, you were right on the money: Obama beat Keyes 70%-27%.

      that was like shooting fish in a barrel.  Keyes was from out of state, a certified lunatic and had made Clarence Thomas look like a liberal.  As much as I am an Obama supporter, those election numbers are practically meaningless.

        approval or higher throughout the duration of his term, so those people stuck with him, not just momentarily picking him over Keyes; that figure includes a staggering 40% of Illinois Republicans.  Those figures are anything but meaningless; they're unparalleled.

        Any statement beginning with "what I'll do as President" is ALWAYS hypothetical, so why bother running if you think candidates shouldn't answer hypotheticals?
