    According to the latest Brookings poll on this topic 78% of the Iraqis either, somewhat or strongly, oppose the presence of coalition forces.

    This breaks down as follows:

    Sunni - 97% oppose
    Shia - 83% oppose
    Kurd - 25% oppose

    The trend shows the opposition growing. In February 2004 51% opposed the presence of the coalition. In November 2005 65% opposed it and the latest information shows that 78% oppose it.

    Looks like we're winning very few hearts and minds in Iraq. Is this progress? Common sense says no!
