The criticism against Karl Rove has been his politicizing of government. Rove managed a campaign of deception "selling" a candidate with a "buffed" resume.

That intentional obscuring of the facts resulted in the need to operate in secrecy, cultivate unquestioning loyalty, and seize power to perpetuate programs without oversight.

The only outward manifestation of this "hidden agenda" was, from the first days, this administration refusal to practice transparency- the secret Energy Meetings with Cheney and its refusal to investigate the blatant energy manipulations in the Califoria energy market Jan. of 2001 by Enron et al.

So based on the practices of this administration, one can only conclude that the NSA program was not being used properly and required lack of transparency to avoid Congressional oversight.

My question would be: was the DeLay briefing the same information as what the Gang of Eight received?
DeLay must be called to swore testimony as to the contents of this briefing in contrast to the briefing received by the Gang of Eight.

    Great diary.
