  •  Delay tracking down fleeing Democrats (6+ / 0-)

Just thought I would throw this out there for anyone who wants to figure it out:

Tom Delay masterminded the gerrymandering of Congressional districts in Texas which led to Texas Democratic state legislators boycotting the session. Warrants for their arrest were made and the Democrats had to flee the state to avoid arrest.

The Department of Homeland Security allegedly provided information to Delay that he was able to pass on to the Texas authorities to use in their efforts to capture the Democratic legislators.  Private aircraft used in the escape from Occupied Texas were tracked by Homeland Security.

IIRC, this was all taking place in late 2003 and early 2004.

Does anyone want to make a bet on whether or not Tom Delay was being given information about private communications between Texas legislators opposed to the gerrymandering plan?

    •  Never been more proud of TX Democrats (4+ / 0-)

I cheered for them.  I was also dismayed at how few people realized what they were doing, and drank the kool-aide about them "fleeing work."

Those were dark days.  Now that Rove's coming back (shudder), how's about we turn Texas BLUE for him?
