    I find that way more offensive than "MSM". Real nails on a chalkboard to me anyway.

      For better or worse, "to fisk" is now in the lexicon, eponymously. What I mean by that is that it has established currency - too many have used it formally in print, and too many have explained its etymology. Once you get that far, you're beyond the possibility of recall.

      Then again, the act of cutting apart an interlocutor's text and replying to it in the form of a Q&A-type thing, needs a verb. Do you have an alternative that you prefer?
