"obsequious, warmongering, goose-stepping, and genuflecting Bush toadies"

    Don't like Republicans much? LOL.

Actually, Jim Petro's problem isn't so much that he's a wingnut -- I suspect most of his lip service to those positions was forced by people like Blackwell pushing the Ohio GOP to lean so far to the right it's toppled over (Buh-BYE!!!!).

His real problem is his total corruption. He's a corporate tool who has been on the take since he set foot in public office. He was a crony of Coingate mastermind Tom Noe, when it wsa his job as attorney general to make sure the kind of illegal dealings at taxpayers' expense that have now put Noel in jail, didn't happen. Yet he did nothing -- of course, because he was bought and paid for by Noe. Our competitor alternative newsweekly in Cleveland, the Scene, always (accurately) referred to him as "the laziest man in law enforcement in Ohio." But it really did go beyond laziness. It was a total lack of will to go after people who were financing his political advancement and that of such cronies as former governor  Bob "The great Invisible" Taft,  former state auditor Betty "You mean it's my job to make sure state money isn't being stolen? But I've got to go to sleep now!" Montgomery and of course former Secretary of State and completely annihilated gibernatorial candidate  Ken "Katherine Harris" Blackwell.

This round-up of stooges and clowns was ousted from office, and I don't think Ohio is eager for an encore.

We're retiring Steve LaTourette (R-Family Values for You But Not for Me) and sending Judge Bill O'Neill to Congress from Ohio-14: http://www.oneill08.com/
