  •  I will re-tell my 'normal' story (6+ / 0-)

    I'm learning disabled.  My mom started a school for me, because, 40 years ago, there were no schools for LD kids who were bright.  To start the school, she had to raise money, and that involved meeting with groups of women who had kids that might attend such a school.

    One woman said she did not want her son to attend a special school, because she wanted him to be considered 'normal'.  Another woman, Mrs. Napier-White, according to my mom a very proper Victorian lady, said

    "I don't like normal people.  I never have".
