is that they are spending a fortune to do it. They've set up an entire organization to do it. When dems do it, it's more grass roots, this is their typical top down approach.

but I mean the mechanism seems not to mean much to me.

      Think Left versus Freedom's Watch?

Seem like similar "grassroots" groups at least on its face.

I am not saying Im anything other than pleased, just not sure why this is a big deal given both sides do the same thing, which is go after either those who support Bush on our side, or those who dont on theirs.

At the end of the day, the bottom line will be that the candidates that will win will be the ones who support the policies that are on the people's side, and not simply for or against Bush.

Although of course at this point, the against Bush is almost exclusively made up of the people's side :)

      •  Well you are right in that (0+ / 0-)

we do go after our own when they cross the line. Can't argue about that. But we tend to keep it within the fold so to speak. Railing against them on progressive blogs within our own community.

There seems to be something very insidious about the way republicans do it. Putting together a well financed organization to publicly embarass their own is not something we have done. As I said, what we do is much more grass roots, much less calculating.

What they are doing is malevolent and self injurious to their own party. We try to keep it quiet to an extent.
