    strengthening the levees is a short term priority, restoring the wetlands is something that would definitely be more long term.

    There was a special feature in the T-P a few weeks ago that outlined a possible strategy.  It's imperative that wetlands between New Orleans and the Gulf be replaced, but if the levee system isn't strengthened considerably, there would be even less of a New Orleans to restore should a major hurricane come through.

    For what it's worth, pretty much every "expert" consulted for that story in the T-P said closing MR-GO was very, very important.  I'm glad Obama included that in his plan.  I can't say there was much I liked about Edwards' seemed pretty generic.
