  •  Well that just about locks up OH-15 for Kilroy (0+ / 0-)

Is the DCCC targeting Chabot in OH-01 again?  He came pretty close to losing in 06.

    •  OH (0+ / 0-)

The DCCC is targeting or looking at OH-01, OH-02, OH-15 and OH-16.

This is the seat of Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-Chagrin Falls), a "Contract with America" electee who (like Chabot) has WAY overstayed his four-terms-and-out pledge. It's a GOP leaning district, but LaTourette has angered a lot of residents and has a whiff of Abramoff taint.

The DCCC is going to support former Appellate Judge Bill O'Neill (D-South Russell) much more strongly than the well-meaning but inexperienced 2006 challenger, law professor Lew Katz. O'Neill is one tough customer, a Vietnam vet and pediatric emergency room nurse as well as a single father. He's plain spoken, has some conservative social views (which will help get some crossover votes), and he got a lot of respect for his "no money from nobody" pledge in his campaign for Ohio Supreme Court. (No, he's not refusing campaign contributions for this race; legislative campaigns are different from judicial ones as far as that is concerned).
