morning shows today), and he said -- with a straight face! -- that the difference between Republicans and Democrats is that Republicans are so ethical that they immediately call for resignations of people in their own party who have committed crimes, while Democrats are a bunch of criminals and just like to re-elect criminals.

I was like, Excuse me sir... how many days did it take for you to step down from YOUR position after you were indicted for money laundering, conspiracy, etc.?

He did not answer me, but in case you're wondering, the answer is 254 days, and that's only because polling showed that he would lose the election to Nick Lampson and he wanted to keep the seat under Republican control.  Politics, as was always the case for DeLay, was more important than principles.

I find it rather telling that the Republicans who have defended people like Scooter Libby, Karl Rove, Bob Ney, Oliver North, Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzales, Duke Cunningham, Bob Novak, Trent Lott, et. al., are absolutely OUTRAGED by a guy trolling for gay sex and suddenly up in arms about things like "Ethics" and "Responsibility to the Public".

You can have your "Under God" back when I get my "Liberty and Justice For All" back.
