    It's a start. When has he ever taken responsibility for anything? Baby steps, baby steps.

    And, dhonig, kudos to you for being sufficiently big-hearted to update us (and the rest of the world that is reading us) about o'reilly's admission. A lot of people wouldn't have considered giving him credit.

      for doing what he was probably forced to do to avoid a lawsuit. Baby steps to what, one might ask?

        He apologized on air.

        Motives? Evil or good, self-serving or generous, the bottom line is that he apologized.

        I didn't say "Good for him." IMHO, it is good that he apologized. Didn't turn him into a saint -- or anyone I'd trust.

        Baby steps to where? Retreat. Baby step by baby step. It starts with one apology . . .
