  •  Exactly. In Iraq 1,000-10,000 for Edwards, but (2+ / 0-)

20,000-60,000 just outside waiting to go back in to stop genocide, regional war, terrorism, etc.

    He's being truthful but misleading.

    •  Wow! (0+ / 0-)

      OK, you win:

Obama wants to leave, say 40,000 in Iraq and some unknown number in the region.

Edwards wants to leave, say 5,000 in Iraq, and some unknown number in the region (probably around where it was before during Bill Clinton's administration, but with troops in Gulf states rather than the Saudi kingdom).

      •  Link to gulf states (he just says region). (1+ / 0-)

      •  Hey man, why don't you stop being reactionary (0+ / 0-)

like Johnny boy when he voted for authorization of force in Iraq, and let the man come out with his plan before you start spewing Johnny's talking points. otherwise, you just sound shrill. As far as leaving troops around, guess what, no one should expect us to be out of Iraq fully in a year, it's non realistic due to training concerns and security, the point is to slowly end our involvement instead of increasing it so within the next 2-3 years it will be completed

      •  There is no evidence that says Obama would leave (0+ / 0-)

tens of thousands of troops in Iraq; Bowers is wrong.  Obama wants to leave some troops in the region, but as far as how many he would leave in Iraq itself, all signs point to a fairly small number.

Any statement beginning with "what I'll do as President" is ALWAYS hypothetical, so why bother running if you think candidates shouldn't answer hypotheticals?
