    Part of "freedom of religion" is to make sure that no government body endorses one religion over another.  This diary displays an apparent abuse of this ideal.

    At the same time, the government is not allowed to discriminate based on religion.  A religious test would, in all honesty, be a blatant disregard of this right.

    It would be correct to say that a member of the Officer Corp should not be preaching his own religion to fellow soldiers.

    But it would be wrong to deny an American citizen service in the military or other government position because they hold that view.
