  •  Dems Need A Veto Proof Majority To Do Anything! (1+ / 0-)

We didn't give them one in November.  So, we'll just have to wait and deliver one, in 2008.

When, allegedly, we'll have a Democratic President to wield our veto-proof threat to.  Until then, we don't use the power we have, cause, it doesn't mean anything, cause its going to be vetoed anyway?

And this isn't something that needs to be advances - it's something that needs to be stopped in its tracks.

    •  OK, I do totally understand why they can't (4+ / 0-)

get anything done now. I don't really have much of an issue with that.

In retrospect, what I do not understand is how they couldn't block all (or even some) of the Repubs greater outrages.

Moreover, since the Repubs have now amply demostrated it is possible to block things, just block funding for the Iraq war for crying out loud - THEY COULD DO THAT!!  But they won't of course, Mr. Hannity would say mean things about them . . .

And, apparently a weak attempt at mocking Democrats who claim they need a veto-proof majority.

It's an obvious lie to say you won't oppose Bush, now, when it really doesn't mean anything.  But, give you a veto-proof majority, and then you'll oppose him.

If you don't do something when you say it's not going to mean anything anyway, (see veto-threat), it's hard to understand why you would oppose Bush when you can override his Veto.  At the end of the day, it's the People and how they vote that's the problem.

Oppose Bush, now, with the Majority you've got!   Not the Majority you wish you had!
