    Thanks for your help. One of these days I really want to get rid of Windows. I'll have to eventually since I have no intention of "upgrading" to a Vista system that gives MS way too much control over my computer.

      I can well understand the feeling--I have an old Compaq notebook that I fixed for a friend (someone even less tech-savvy than myself) that was infected with more than 12,000 virii, trojans, rootkits, adware, etc.; I started to re-install XP home, but was rootkitted within two minutes of getting online again to update to SP1 & 2--finally gave up and put Suse on it, and have never looked back.

        12,000? Yikes, they must have opened every spam attachment anyone ever sent them. I run about 4 or 5 security programs either continuously or periodically and I've only ever had a virus once. Never a rootkit thankfully, those really seem like a pain to get rid of.
