maybe BillO said this PRECISELY to get ratings. Maybe he knew it was going to get people who are repulsed by such comments all riled up, and then the racists flock to watch him. After all, he's losing a lot of ratings lately. Every time he has a big, controversial event, the flies come back to him in droves.

I remember a time when the American President was the leader of the free world. ****** Repeat after me: "Neoconservatism has failed America."

I don't think these remakrs will get more racists to watch.

in my experience, most racists are humorless and very literal, so they would not be attracted by a statement expressing surprise that black people are normal human beings.

people who don't realize his remarks are racist, but who have said the same things themselves, will feel their attitude is normal because of what BillO said, so they'll be more likely to watch him.

and some other ignorant folk who don't realize his remarks are racist will say, "that Bill O'Reilly isn't racist after all, like my liberal cousin has been saying!  He even eats dinner with black people in black restaurants!"

it is the people in the muddled middle he is trying to hornswoggle.  Fox Channel (and the Republican Party for which it stands) is number one because of their ability to confuse and misdirect that sad group of viewers and voters.

Politics is like driving. To go backward, put it in R. To go forward, put it in D.
