I have been ready to use more forceful means to NOT be   silenced for several years now.

Just have to break now and then or I'll become totally incomprehensible.  The older I get, the more I run in circles :-)

I'll reiterate it here for you, but it goes like this: up against local police and the U.S. military, what exactly do you think you'd accomplish by resorting to violent resistance?  Do you presume to replay the Alamo?  That will fail, for the following reasons:

1.) Violence didn't save the men who made their last stand at the Alamo.

2.) We're existing in an environment where the mainstream media is generally lazy and compliant.  The news networks will report only so far as the story doesn't piss off the sponsors, who more often than not are the ones buying our elected officials.  I guarantee you that if you try to resist using violence, you will be derided as a kook and you'll be remembered as such.  You will not be remembered as any kind of hero, and the short attention span of this nation will forget you in very short order.

The key to successfully resisting a fascist dictator is not violence; it is nonviolent, civil disobedience.  It worked for Jesus, and it worked for Ghandi, because by standing up to an unjust system and forsaking violence, people see the injustice and recognize it better than if they see you shooting it out with the gestapo.  You win hearts and minds that way, because their hearts and minds are transformed.  By letting people see the evil inherent in the dictatorships' cause and methods, their sense of moral outrage is awakened.  If you lower yourself to the level of your enemies, however, in what way are you different?
