is, I believe, the same group that had the goal of taking back the House in 2012. That's 8 freakin' years from now. I don't want to wait till I'm 53 to see some sanity return to the halls of Congress.

If they were so concerned about Schrader, why was she running to begin with? This would have been a great place to put a young, up-and-coming fresh face, give him/her some experience and name recognition. Instead, they said, "We've got no chance...let's just throw someone out there." Well, now that they do have a chance, the DCCC wants to say, "Now wait a minute, let's reconsider..."

Let's say you work for a small software company. You're working on getting a contract with a major firm with offices all across the country. Trouble is, your competition is Microsoft. Big name recognition, heavy track record. So you go out and work your buns off -- lunch meetings, phone calls, staying up late working on presentations when you'd rather be in bed with the significant other of your choice.

Then, suddenly, Microsoft pulls out of the deal. You're home free, right? Well, as soon as Microsoft pulls out, your boss comes to you and says, "Thanks for all the work...but we're turning over the contract to Fred." All that work you did...and Fred gets the credit and the bonuses.

Okay, so analogy is slippery, but that's how it looks to me. Schrader's done the leg work, and she's done it with virtually no help from the Big Boys. Excitement has grown, enough that people are ponying up the $$ for her campaign. If there are doubts about Schrader's viability, won't the money sources dry up?

Maybe that's the problem...if someone can do it without help from the Big Boys at the DCCC, maybe the DCCC is ultimately unnecessary. You make the call.

    Here endeth the rant...
