a Democratic president who has a real mandate.

A workable majority in both houses and a popular president.  These are the necessities for a major shift in policy directions.

For one, I see it as the only way to comprehensively attack the cycle of politics for fundraisers, lobbyists and special interests.

Social, economic and foreign policy decisions have to respond to the base of the party that got them in power.

I think, eventually thinking conservatives and Republicans would appreciate the house-cleaning. Their base is not really at the table for the decision making either.

I think that's why we need Al Gore. I think he could get that mandate.. and I trust what he would do with it.

      •  We want Al Gore, but do we deserve him? (0+ / 0-)

For Gore to be effective in the way that we envision, we are asking from him a form of martyrdom.  He would have to sacrifice in so many ways.

Who are we to ask this from someone?

Why Gore Will Not Run is my latest diary. I would appreciate your comments, even long after it "passes."

his run.  It was the second run at the WH for Bush that got me active.  I admit my mistake and I'm ready to make up for it now by putting all that I'm worth into this race.  Are you?  Gore will run.  (If we build it, he will come)
