    He's become a gazillionaire, he's held in high esteem by the world community, he can say "I told you so" for the rest of his life.  And he seems to be thoroughly enjoying himself while saving the planet for humankind.

    I don't see the incentive for him.

      But in the long run he would be just a footnote in US history and nothing else.

      On the other hand he can become US president, a Statesman and a planet savior. And historians eventually would place him on the top of the list as one of the best presidents in US history. And future generations would remember him for his courage, vision of the future and much more....

      For Al Gore there is only two paths to follow regarding his legacy:

      1. become US president and a living Legend
      1. or just a footnote in US history.
