    You Can't Do That to Armed People

    There have been such massacres where the army couldn't assume the populace was unarmed. I'm thinking that at Kent State (not that that is anywhere near moral equivalence), there were reports of a sniper. I seriously doubt the deterrence values of a few guns will outweigh the moral clarity of unarmed peaceful demonstrators who've been massacred.

    I've always had the suspicion that the left listens to Bush a lot more than his own administration ever did.-Babylonandon, Huffington Post.

      The NG and Police KNEW 99.9% that there would be no guns in the hands of any students or anti war protesters.

      with a long lens on his camera. You can see him in some of the news reports. Didn't look at all like a sniper, even to me. Certainly shouldn't have looked like one to a trained National Guardsman. But that was a long time ago, under another Republican President.
