    Kucinich would actually support the manner of funding. Did you see the debate the other day where he called for a ban on smoking in public places?

      I was thinking of it as regressive taxation which falls disproportionately on poor people.

      There are a lot of progressives who are against the tax which funds it.

        but I don't know of many progressives who would oppose the entire program just because of the system of taxation.

        Anyway, Kucinich voted against it because of its lack of coverage of immigrant children. He posted his statement about that on his website.

          ....if we can't muster up the political will to fund this program with a progressive tax, when will we ever be able to?  If we don't take a stand against ever-more-regressive tax policy now, we'll never be able to.
