    altered me while growing up.

Scifi regretably is light on minority representation, and its females tend to wear skin tight outfits and or short shirt skirts ala old school star trek days.

Otherwise scifi being very liberal otherwise must have brainwashed me as a kid to despise all things conservative let alone conservative media.

    •  Not all SciFi is liberal. (3+ / 0-)

Gor, Horseclans, Retief, Orson Scott Card, Poul Anderson.

Poul is at least a fair writer, Orson had one good book, Retief is funny in a William F. Buckley kind of way, the other two are pure trash.

      Even Heinlein is pretty wacky.

I like Niven and Pournelle is at least readable if reactionary (but he's a bad influence on Larry).

      Read the classics.
Not so much with the liberal.
Even many of the overt "liberal" themed stuff have some really strong conservative underpinnings.
      And vice-versa.

That's what's so great about Sci-Fi... damn little black and white...

The "Government is bad" theme is about as pervasive as a theme can be... and that one is pure conservative.
