  •  From the article - he has not ruled it out (0+ / 0-)

Winning the Nobel is sure to generate stories about whether this might compel the 2000 Democratic presidential nominee to get into the 2008 race (which he has said many times he has no plans to do, but has never completely ruled out).

So there goes your first argument... even the traditional media reporters (some of them at least) aren't claiming that he's ruled it out. Which leads to the next question...

    You said:

Seriously, what does he have to do to stop this stuff? How much $$$ and energy is being wasted on the various "Draft Gore" websites that could be spent on other deserving candidates who are actually running?

Why is it, do you think, that Gore hasn't given his "Sherman statement" LIKE HE DID LAST TIME AROUND? Would he let this go on, knowing that all he has to do is say a few words to bring it to a stop, if he weren't at least seriously considering a run?

    I don't think so.
