I had a similar reaction when I read the NY Times review of her book.  I thought Joseph Stiglitz made some good points in his review and I wasn't sure if I would buy the book.

Then, on the spur of the moment I bought the book and I think it's amazing.  If you read the acknowledgments at the back of the book, Klein not only visited almost all of the places she is reporting on, she also has a huge team of research assistants in many of these countries checking facts, conducting additional interviews, and translating documents.

Klein is making a global argument with a global team (and a global release I might add). Once I waded through the full argument I found that the thesis fit the facts quite well (and vice versa).
