    But in the 1980s, Bush Sr. rejected it because Turkey was an ally against the Soviet Union. He also rejected it because of the Gulf War. Clinton also rejected it in 2000.

    A similar resolution against Japanese genocide in China was passed by Congress. It created a fury in Japan for a couple of days, then died out. I think that's what is most likely to happen in Turkey, if not, then I think there is something wrong with the Turks. I say, to the Turks, if you are so angry about the resolution, pass your own resolution condemning American genocide of Native Americans. Then the US and Turkey can resume normal relations.
