I had written her last August scolding her for her FISA vote and telling her we took our constitutional rights and they weren't granted by any Senate.

I will make every effort to ensure [sic] that new legislation will continue to protect [sic] the privacy rights of all Americans [sic] without restricting the intelligence community's ability to protect [sic] the nation.

Thank you for writing to me about domestic electronic surveillance and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (FISA).  I appreciate you taking the time to write and I welcome the opportunity to respond.

Finally, there will be intense oversight of activities conducted under the Act.

Executive privilege obviously trumps your assurance. You and the Senate are too afraid to go to court against Bush's ridiculous claims of executive privilege to effectively provide any meaningful oversight.

It is beyond me why you trust the executive branch after all these years.

You cannot assure the public that the Bush Administration doesn't use wiretapping to gain information of Democratic campaigns and use that information to elect Republicans.

And you cannot assure the public that the Bush Administration doesn't use wiretapping for the purpose of corporate espionage -- giving crony businesses secrets gained their competitors through wiretapping.
