  •  Rudy has already given him the hook (6+ / 0-)

Rudy says that the liberal media does demonstrations that make waterboarding look worse than it really is. So the next time the SJC shows Mukasey a demonstration tape, he'll just say that he can't say whether it's torture unless he sees a demonstration tape made by the National Review.  And then the National Review will show a demonstration in which the waterboardee is bathed in gentle shower of mist while having his balls rubbed.

    It's the Constitution, stupid.

now THAT would be torture and even mukasey would have to agree.

as a guinea pig for the demonstration.  After all, he doesn't consider it torture any more than what he's already doing.

That would show Mukasey, and the world, how "silly" this whole flap about waterboarding being torture really is.

      •  A demo....like they do at the State Fair? (1+ / 0-)

We have really sunk to a new low. How does any of this get rationalized?

We are in open debate about perceived drowning of captives to extract vital tactical information for the 'War on terra'.

We have to ask the nominee for the role of the nation's attorney if this is acceptable behavior?

And he can't bring it on himself to NOT equivocate or prevaricate?

We don't need a DEMO. This is an uncivilized and inhuman behavior.

        Mukasey repeat after me!

when the Japanese did it to prisoners in WWII.

In fact, they were convicted of war crimes and hanged for it. Can anyone tell me what has changed? Sean? Rush? Anybody?

I can't believe we are having this debate in the UNITED STATES OF FUCKING AMERICA! What is wrong with this nation?

What's the difference between Vietnam and Iraq? Bush knew how to get out of Vietnam.

      •  Well, like Rudy said, it depends on how it is (2+ / 0-)

done and who is doing it.  When evil Japanese people do it to wholesome young white Americans, its torture.  When wholesome young white Americans do it to evil terrorists, maybe not.

As for what is wrong with this nation, I have no clue. I really don't.  I came of age during Watergate, and I cannot fucking believe that I am living through something even worse. At least Richard Nixon wasn't actively trying to start World War III.
