  •  Rained like a sumbitch in W. TN (9+ / 0-)

and praise and gratitude is directed to all rain deities responsible. We were under a weird weather formation I think Tom Skilling said was called an isolated low--sort of like a land-based tropical storm, a low that's cut off from the jet stream so does't move along like usual, just sits and spins in one place and rains and rains. This one was over west Tennessee/west KY/se MO/ne Ark/ and nearby areas.

Didn't get us all the way out of drought (we were down over 20 inches from "normal" last I heard) but according to my very haphazard rain gagues we had to have gotten 6 inches plus here. Helps a lot.

Gotta get some barrels before spring though. We don't have eavestroughs but I'm looking to find at least a section, with downspout, to go over the back door. Besides keeping me from being dripped upon when letting the dog out on her chain to pee, this will help fill the barrel faster. ;)

Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?
