  •  Nat'l Security issues (4+ / 0-)

For the life of me I can't understand why the GOP is still seen as better on Nat'l security issues? Is it their bully boy attitude? No its because they at least show some backbone. The D's are seen as weaklings. Voters , at least a majority ask themselves who'd they want in their corner in a street fight. John McCain or Hillary..U get the picture. The D's do a lousy job of fighting this image.

    •  Especially since the 911 attacks came on the GOP (4+ / 0-)

watch & they were warned well in advance of it happenning. The other one is Rudy, people just don't understand he was walkking the streets of New York that day because the asshole put his command & control center in the WTC.

I get real dissapointed with how misinformed the typical American voter is on the issues.

the current US government hasn't even mentioned what they're doing to find the anthrax terrorists that thwarted Dem. efforts to reign in this regime just after 9/11.

Oh, wait.  That wasn't a terrorist attack on our government...that was designed to get those damned Dems in line for the war vote.  /not snark

        •  Excellent point. Although I think it was an act (0+ / 0-)

of terror, but since it was against liberals the current administration gave it lip service.

If it was against Lott or Frist in lieu of Daschle this thing would still be front page news.

for what 2 3 hours before these yahoos could figure out where it was safe for him to land.

I despise the use of the hate word, but man I do hate these guys for what they have done to our country.

          •  Not only that, Osama bin Laden THANKED Bush (1+ / 0-)

for his ineptitude during the 9/11 crisis.  This wasn't played on the media (they said his rant was too long) but Osama went on to say how 9/11 went better than he had hoped because Bush sat their reading a children's book giving the terrorists time to complete their mission.

Bush is a pathetic coward--was when he dodged the draft, and is now that he is CIC.

    •  Dems should say "R's are horrible on defense, (0+ / 0-)

      terrorism, and international relations. Etc.

Why don't they refine such a line and keep repeating it over and over.

Republicans are lousy on national defense!

    •  Two reasons (0+ / 0-)

       1. Democrats think they're fighting the party's negative branding on the issue by taking those oh-so-tough stands against those awful villains MoveOn and Pete Stark, but their endless caving to Republicans on issue after issue (and their reluctance to take REAL measures to stop the wars) work against such brand-modification.

       2. A significant part of our culture confuses "taking the most graphically violent option" with "toughness". Thus the Republicans blow things up and are seen as "tough", even when such measures deeply undermine our security prospects in the long run. It's a juvenile, self-defeating way of looking at the world, but that's Republicans for you -- and their followers. The Democrats mistakenly believe they need to pander to that element to win elections (or in cases like Brian Baird and Dianne Feinstein, they just get off on war and killing themselves, just like Republicans).
