personal relationships, it is time to reassess your priorities. People who believe they must force everyone around them to acknowledge the superiority of their ideas are assholes. If you know some right-wingers like that, they aren't friend material anyway, so what's the loss if you don't carry on a friendship? Don't be a left-winger like that though because it's just as bad.

Confining yourself to exposure only from those with whom you agree is the textbook definition of the "echo chamber". I have gay friends, black friends, hispanic friends, liberal friends and even listen to "all the money, half the time" NPR on the radio in spite of being a conservative. It doesn't hurt me and it doesn't hurt them.

My wife is far more liberal than I am, especially on the subject of abortion, but we handle those differences maturely. With four underage daughters between us, the subject is not just theoretical. I married her because she is smart and a good person to the core. Her experiences have led her to different beliefs than mine. I am glad that she helps me see things from a different perspective. I am also glad that she feels the same way about me.

I hope that once Bush is gone, we can all go back to being sane again. I'd like to be able to make fun of you guys' candidates without feeling like blood has to be drawn over it.

To the guy with the perpetual rage, that isn't Bush. That is illness and you should deal with it appropriately. If something doesn't work, find a new doctor and a new treatment. Depression is serious.
