    You know, I had pretty much forgotten the Exxon Valdez until this latest round of legal wrangling. But now that it's back in the news, it's an amazing thing to see just how resilient Earth really is.

    Looking at those pictures, and of course, listening to the people at the time saying that it was ruined and would never be the same again, all one has to do is look at the same sound now to see how alarmist and how completely and utterly wrong they really were.

    You can't tell there was ever an oil spill that occured there now. So much for irreparable damage.

    That's not to say that I condone what happened, on the contrary, but I also don't think that our world is as fragile as some would like us to believe.

    By the way, while we're on the subject, how's the "global cooling" alarm that was sounded a number of years back working for you?
