    1.  Not confirm Mukasey.
    1.  Remove Keisler.
    1.  Restore the Independent Counsel Statute.
    1.  Provide that in the absence of a confirmed attorney general, the acting attorney general shall be chosen in the same manner as an independent counsel is appointed.

    Of course, none of these things are going to happen but that is what the Senate should do.
