    another 30,000 troops had NOT died after we knew it was not winnable in 1965  kind or reminds me of Iraq

      It's one thing to say that the US should have withdrawn from South Vietnam earlier.

      It's another to support the fall of South Vietnam in any way.

      The fall of South Vietnam destroyed the lives of millions of people.  It resulted in hundreds of thousands to millions of deaths, millions of refugees, untold numbers of rapes, and the continuing subjugation of what used to be South Vietnam by North Vietnam. (As recently as ten years ago, most police in Ho Chi Minh City were still from North Vietnam).

      No real Democrat is glad South Vietnam fell.  The tragedy is that we could not prevent it and that we lost so much in the attempt.
