    ...part of the Foreign Service.  Those nitwits for the most part are AEI hacks and the like.  Looking again at the 88-12 break on the poll of Foreign Service officers, I think it's safe to say that the career Foreign Service folks are not on board with the Bush crusade, and I don't think many of them ever were.  

    The revolution will not be televised, but we'll analyze it to death at The Next Hurrah.

      ......have suffered under the cruel, crushing burden that has been the Bush "Administration" idea of diplomacy.  How many of the career foreign service left when Colin Powell resigned?  I suspect many felt that he was the final firewall between them and the John Bolton "Raging Bull In The China Shop" wing in the State Department, which is why, no doubt, they don't have "warm" feelings for Dr. Rice, who has been worse than ineffectual.  Given that fact, I have no doubt that the Bushies snuck a few of their own into the Foreign Service.  It fits their MO of 100 years of Republican Dominance...

        ...is pretty damn hard to enter, and if they want to take care of people and have them abet the imperial crusade, it's far more efficient to just hire them as a civilian contractor.
