    Lariam was in the press 03-04 [?] as 'very controversial' with its documented adverse effects. I thought that it had become 'optional' in the sense that you could 'opt out'. Or at least that was the discussion. The 'opt out option' would be not effective as it relies on the soldier being 'informed'.

    I remember checking with my kid and he had already had 'all immunizations' without side effects.

    To assume there was much follow-up is to believe in the tooth fairy, that the 'black boxes' on anti-depressants are effective, that the Dole-Shalala report did more than pit 'old' vets against 'new' vets for limited resources at the VA, or that 'approval' of this stuff is not in the hands of those who benefit financially from its approval, yada.
