      Seriously, though, bringing up techniques like this to this particular age group IS frightening on a cognitive development basis.  Kids in this age group are in what Piaget called the concrete operational stage.  They are absolutist thinkers, no shades of gray.  These kids see and hear a high-ranking military officer (think: instant respect, so therefore, absolute trust) say that waterboarding is okay.  Then these kids BELIEVE it.

      I'm sure a developmental specialist would have MUCH more to say on this, as I'm NOT a psychologist.  LOL, I'm just a teaching student finishing up my Human Growth and Development psych class and guess which developmental stage we just studied?  :D

        this age group. They know full well what they're doing, and they're focusing outreach on the under HS age kids.
