    ...not to be too much of a pimp for my own work, but I answer a lot of the "what about X" issues in my presentation The Oil Crunch.

    The bottom line is that things like the Brazil find or Jack2 from last year don't change the basic equation.  They don't have enough oil, and they can't be produced soon enough and at the volumes needed to avert the peak.

    As I say in The Oil Crunch, global warming is really serious, but over the next 10 to 15 years peak oil will be a much bigger problem for almost anyone living in an industrialized nation.

      because being cold in the winter, having no food, or job, or even a way to get your kids to school(collapsed economy) is going to totally trump melting poles and rising sea levels.
