I mean what is there to analyze? The torture stuff was all well and good, but Republican primary voters don't like gun-hatin' abortion-lovin' gay-marrian' cross dressers.

usually there's something that triggers that.  All those things you listed have been public knowledge for months now.  I'm just curious as to why now?

Because now we're just over a month out from Iowa, and people are starting to really pay attention. Romney's flooding every GOP household in all these states with direct mail, a lot of candidates are up on TV, and Rudy's fundamentals are really pretty weak given the demographic of the people he's asking to vote for him.

He's also been running a bit of a stealth campaign, while Romney has been super visible for months. Rudy may be keeping his powder dry for a last minute push (a la Kerry in '04), but that seems like a strange strategy given the fact that he has plenty of money.

Don't know about that. It's an explanation. It's my best guess but it may be totally wrong.

I haven't been in NH in over a month. I'm going to Iowa in a week. With any luck I'll be able to stop BSing and start reporting accurately. :-)
