They help create the results they predict by repeating them over and over again.  Also, politicians use them for propaganda and can easily affect the results by polling in places where they happen to have lots of support.  If you keep repeating something over and over, people believe it.  The bandwagon effect then comes into play because not many people want to vote for losers. It's also not only Hillary who's getting bad media and press coverage.  Obama and Edwards had just about been ignored until recently, and that's the worst thing that can happen to a candidate because it makes him or her irrelevant.  On the other hand, Hillary is mentioned every single day, and usually there are pictures too.  That tends to make her more important than the others.  I don't like her constant whining when things don't go her way.  Even if what she says is true, the whining doesn't help her image.  I think she's getting bad advice.

In my opinion, Hillary is only "winning" these polls because the media won't accept her losing. As shown, they throw a fit whenever a poll shows that she is losing.

If they would, gasp, pay attention to other candidates, then this race would be completely different. If only Richardson, Dodd, and Biden got more than a minute in the spotlight during the debate and the news.
