      He also accused the Vanderbilts and other business interests of approaching him to engineer a coup against FDR. I don't believe that his testimony to the Senate about the "Business Plot" has been released as of yet... almost 80 years later.

      But he was just crazy.

      He also negotiated on behalf of the bonus marchers that MacArthur would later rout from DC with tear gas and soldiers, burning down their huts and camps and rousted women and children.

      But Smedley was just crazy. MacArthur is a national hero, though.
