As someone who works with animals, you'd rather see this event go unsponsored than allow a right-wing organization to gain some positive publicity over it?

    Sheesh.

    •  Who said 'unsponsored'? (3+ / 0-)

Dave is correct--this is a VERY popular holiday event here in SF. I have lots of friends and coworkers who talk about their trips down there--it generates a LOT of buzz. I can't believe that SPCA couldn't find a better sponsor.

There are NO acceptable republicans running for president: Dick Riordan, Lowell Weicker, John Danforth, Amo Houghton, and William Weld are not running.

      •  Have you asked them? (0+ / 0-)

This diary assumes that there are plenty of organizations or groups willing to fork over the cash that KSFO did.

How do you know what KSFO paid and how many groups were willing to spend the same amount?

Is KSFO running promos for this event? Is it driving more people to the event so that more animals are being adopted?

        •  How many people is it driving away? (0+ / 0-)

This is San Francisco. KSFO targets a niche hate market. There are lots of other pet adoption groups. I hope SPCA is making a lot of money on this because it can potentially cost them support.

Personally, I'll recommend any other shelter for my friends to support. IMO, this is bad stewardship on the part of SPCA. Maybe they did a cost/benefit analysis on this and figured they would come out ahead.

Do wingers contribute more to pet agencies? Do they adopt more puppies and pooties? I mean, they're so well-known for their altruism. Heh.

          •  Well the numbers at the end of this drive (0+ / 0-)

            will show who is right.

Personally, I would never listen to them if I lived in SF, but they want to sponsor a good cause, good for them.
